From a Vision to Action: UN Partners Okyeman Environment Foundation to Save the Environment, Create Jobs and Protect Lives

The overall goal of the programme is to adopt the Human Security Approach to strengthen local systems to address critical gaps in the environment, health and education sectors in Akyem Abuakwa by 2023. This will be achieved through capacity building of local structures to make considerable investments in reforestation program hinged on sustainable environmental governance and management, ecotourism, livelihoods empowerment, and the promotion of better health and education outcomes.

A UN delegation recently visited the King of the area to announce the inception of the joint programme.
