Welcome to the tenth issue of the Ghana Statistical Service (GSS) Development Partners Platform Newsletter, covering July–September 2025. This special edition highlights Ghana’s continued progress in strengthening its statistical ecosystem through innovation, collaboration, and strategic investments in data systems that support evidence-based development.

This quarter marks important milestones in Ghana’s journey toward building a modern, resilient, and responsive National Statistical System (NSS). A major highlight is the development of the National Strategy for the Development of Statistics (NSDS III) 2026–2030, which provides a transformative roadmap to modernize official statistics, strengthen governance, promote innovation, and position data as a strategic national asset.

The issue also showcases the power of partnerships in advancing statistical capacity and data use. From the Pre-Global Data Festival high-level dialogue on data innovation and South–South collaboration, to investments in digital skills, administrative data systems, financial management, and modern data collection approaches, GSS and its partners continue to expand the role of statistics in shaping policies and improving development outcomes.

Through collaborations with the Embassy of Denmark, Statistics Denmark, the Office for National Statistics (ONS), UNFPA, and other partners, this edition highlights efforts to enhance data accessibility, strengthen institutional capacity, and promote the use of innovative tools such as artificial intelligence, programming, and digital platforms. The issue further captures Ghana’s engagement in international knowledge exchange, including study visits focused on digital transformation, data governance, and strengthening the link between data and policy.

As Ghana advances toward a more integrated and future-ready statistical system, GSS and its development partners remain committed to ensuring that trusted, timely, and inclusive statistics guide national priorities and contribute to sustainable development.
