Welcome to the eighth issue of the Ghana Statistical Service (GSS) Development Partners Platform Newsletter, covering January–March 2025. This issue highlights the continued efforts of GSS and its development partners to strengthen the connection between data, policy, and decision-making, ensuring that quality statistics translate into meaningful development outcomes for Ghana.

The first quarter of 2025 marked significant progress in advancing evidence-based policymaking through strategic engagements with policymakers, investments in innovative data solutions, and strengthened institutional partnerships. From initiatives to enhance the use of official statistics within Parliament, to the application of mobile data for understanding population movements, this issue demonstrates how collaboration is expanding the role of data in addressing national priorities.

Partnerships with organizations including the Office for National Statistics (ONS), the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO), UNICEF, the World Food Programme (WFP), Statistics Denmark, and other stakeholders have continued to support improvements in statistical capacity, data quality, and the generation of actionable insights. This quarter also saw the release of important district-level health and wellbeing reports, advancements in food security evidence generation, strengthened metadata practices, and new research on productivity, employment, and economic growth.

As Ghana continues to prioritize data-driven development, GSS and its partners remain committed to building a modern, inclusive, and responsive statistical system that supports effective policies and improves outcomes for all citizens.
